Here's the first turkey photo of the new season, along with another for the 'up close and personal' series.

Mr. Long Tines a Year Ago
I had nothing on the cams worth posting today, so I'm reposting a shot of the one we called Mr. Long Tines. I think this could be the same buck that showed up for photos a few days ago.

A Cat? Bobcat?...and a Broom-Tailed Doe
Not much going on at either camera right now. We haven't had a rain for a couple of weeks, so I'm guessing I should set up a 3rd camera near the creek. The first photo isn't very good - is it a cat?

This doe's tail really spreads out like a broom when she runs. If it's the one I think it is, she has had twins each of the last 4 years.

The Return of Mr. Long Tines?
I can't be sure, but I think this is the same buck we called Mr. Long Tines last year. Hope to get a better picture of this one soon! (Just as a reminder: You can click on any photo to get a full-screen enlargement.)

Afternoon Test Post

I've been fooling around with the blog today and wanted to do a test post. Come back tomorrow for "The Return of Mr. Long Tines?"
Guess I Forgot What I Learned Last Year...
...as I did not take a compass with me when I set up this camera last week, and as a result, the image of the one buck that walked by is washed out by the sun. The lesson: don't point your camera toward the east or west unless you have a lot of trees to break up the sky.
